Design, production and sales, it all happens in the Netherlands. After setting up a few fashion concepts, Rob van den Oord decided to take a different approach. The reason was a whim in which an obtained piece of material, actually intended for architectural applications, was transformed into a multifunctional basket. By chance, the washable basket was picked up by a group of creative catering entrepreneurs. A first assignment in the hospitality industry became a fact. Inspired by the new environment and the demand for sustainable products in a throw-away culture, new ideas emerged. A logical next step was a switch to customized catering accessories. Once in use in the hospitality industry, the accessories were noticed by stylists and consumers.
In 2013 the company was renamed NOOBLU design. With a new web shop a selection of accessories became available to consumers. The rest is history. Showpiece was, and still is placemat PEBL. In fact, this applies to all variants of this organic, but above all, functional design. It was even found to be so unique and distinctive that the design was approved for design registration and NOOBLU design is therefore the holder of the intellectual property.
So it's Dutch design, and not just because of its origin. Characteristic is the sober and neutral design. Conceptually simple but always with a twist. Often multifunctional. NOOBLU designs feel at home in almost all interiors. They inspire users, and that is exactly what owner/designer Rob van den Oord wants to achieve.
